Ieri ho installato l'ultimo kernel linux 2.6.8
Per quanto ho provato finora funziona tutto cio' che ha funzionato sotto il 2.6.7 tranne il masterizzare dei CD.
Come consigliato col 2.6 non uso piu' l'emulazione SCSI ma l'interfaccia del kernel. Metto percio' come device ATAPI:0,0,0
Col 2.6.8 purtroppo cdrecord mi da' un errore e non inizia neanche a masterizzare.
Qualcun'altro usa il 2.6.8 e e' riuscito a masterizzare un CD?

Kann serin, dass dir diese Mails weiterhelfen: <snip> Q:seitdem ich auf kernel 2.6.8.1 geupdatet habe, verweigert cdrecord konsquent den dienst. k3b z.b. zeigt meinen brenner korrekt in der konfiguration an, doch wenns ans brennen geht sagt es, das es keinen brenner zum schreiben der cd gefunden hat. genauer: cdrecord allein spuckt folgendes aus: cdrecord: Drive does not support TAO recording. cdrecord: Illegal write mode for this drive. boote ich den alten 2.6.7 der mit selber .config kompiliert wurde, funktioniert wieder alles einwandfrei. jemand nen tipp, wodran das liegen könnte? jedesmal nen anderen kernel zum brennen booten ist nämlich etwas lästig :)

No purtroppo no, uso un "vecchio" kernel:

Ma non ho piu' investito molto tempo. Con questo Kernel mi funziona tutto, percio' non ho fretta.

Offenbar arbeiten die im Kernel an einer neuen Sicherheitsstufe für cdbrenner. Daher kann man nur noch als Root brennen. Um dies zu umgehen kann man einfach einen alten Kernel z.B. 2.6.7 verwenden. Irgendwo habe ich auch mal einen Patch gesehen, leider habe ich die Url nicht mehr.

Ja, ich habe auf einen älteren Kernel umgestellt. Vielleicht hätte ein setUID root von cdrecord gereicht, aber der alte Kernel lauft prima :)

ich verwende mandrakelinux mit 2.6.8.1. dort gibt es dieses problem nicht mehr. das einzige problem, das dort - manchmal - auftritt, ist im zusammenhang mit fam. wenn ich mich nicht ganz täusche, ist das problem mit fam hier schon einmal kurz angesprochen worden. weiß jemand, warum das nur manchmal auftritt und hat jemand eine lösung dafür?

Das Problem mit Fam habe ich auch, aber nun schon eine weile nicht mehr, ich glaube die Debianer patchen Ihren Kernel recht gut.
