Sorry everybody, I hadn't understood that the mail was coming from the
mailing list, that's why I was wondering about the English :)
Ok, quick introduction to Secret Media Lab, we're a bunch of people who
like to explore the creative use of technology in the fields of music and
visual arts. We started as a circuit bending ground, but we didn't stop at
that (though we still organize circuit bending workshops).
We have a small website which you can see here:
http://cargocollective.com/secretmedialab
One of our fellow benders is a bit into Arduino, he mainly creates glitchy
visuals, you can see of his stuff here:
http://www.akirasrebirth.com/
So as you can see, there might be some common ground.
cheers
Hannes

I think the idea is to have a group of people interested in discussing
project ideas in the field of Open Hardware and/or embedded hardware
with Free Software.
Arduino seams to fit the topic very well in my personal view.
There are some RaspberryPi projects already known to us. I see people
using Arduino and others using RaspberryPi who could meet up and get
creative together.

Seams to become the common language on the mailing list. We have native
German, Italian, Ladin, Swedish, English, ... speakers subscribed and
English seams the language everyone can read.
Happy hacking!

My name is Jacob Alexandersson, I met up with Shaun briefly at the
"SFScon 2013" conference the other day. (Nice conferece, by the way!)
I am quite new in the area (and in Italy); I am Swedish - from
Stockholm; but me and my wife have lived in Italy for a little over a
year now. My wife is Italian - from Bolzano.
I am 36 years old and I have worked in the IT-industry for 12-13 years
now; I started out on proprietary UNIX systems (mainly Solaris), but
during the last 6-7 years my focus has shifted more and more towards
Linux.
I am an opensource evangelist and enthusiast. Areas in which I have
special interest/experience include central management, automation and
security.
In my free time I love to play with things like the Raspberry Pi, *BSD,
Soekris etc... unfortunatly "free time" is becoming less and less
available.....
I hope it is ok that I subscribed to your maillist and I hope I can meet
up with you at one of your meetings. Where I work now I am the only
"Linux guy" and I really miss having people to discuss linux-things
with.

I miei interessi
firmware alternativo trovato qua e là in rete (openwrt, ...). Ho scoperto
