Brauche Tips !

Happy hacking!

Betreff: [What The Hack!] WTH Newsflash #8
Datum: Wed, 13 Jul 2005 23:59:46 +0200
Von: Rop Gonggrijp <rop(a)gonggri.jp>
An: announce(a)whatthehack.org
1. What The Hack in full swing!
Our Wiki is buzzing with activity and all the teams are busy
finalizing their preparations. We're really happy with the program -
it's the best we've ever had - and the villages are sparkling with
creativity. Pre-sales of tickets went well. We sold a total of 1099
tickets during the pre-sale phase, up from 864 at HAL2001. Based on
this, we expect there might be 3.000 participants at What The Hack.
Party is on, we repeat, party is on. This is not a drill!
2. Fiberparty
If you have two hands and some time, come to the venue for the
fiberparty this Saturday, the 16th. We need to lay 2.5 km of fiber. Hard
work, but bearable if enough people show up. See
http://wiki.whatthehack.org/WTW/index.php/FiberParty for details, and
please put a little note on the page if you are sure you're coming.
3. The Saturday and Sunday before
We need quite a few volunteers to put up the big tents, and we would
appreciate almost any amount of extra hands on Saturday the 23rd and
Sunday the 24th. So especially to those living relatively nearby: even
if you plan to come later, you're most welcome to help out, even if just
for (part of) a day.
4. Program
The program has been finalized and kicks *ss. This doesn't mean there
will be no changes, but the general picture will remain as is. We've got
the full range from wireless networks over shortwave to quantum
mechanics to psychedelic research to surveillance technology to
lockpicking to kernel hacking to reverse engineering and much, much
more. Check http://program.whatthehack.org/events.en.html for details.
5. DECT phones
If you have a DECT/GAP compatible phone, bring it. We have a large DECT
phone system, and we can route an extension to your wireless phone. This
will allow others to reach you without paying extor^H^H^H^H^Hroaming
fees. Phones can also be reached from the normal phone network for
landline rates. More information will be available soon, just bring your
phone. If you do not have a phone we will be selling them for very cheap
(starting at 15 Euros!), so don't buy anything expensive just for WTH.
6. Campsite map available !
Want to know what What The Hack will look like? The map is now online!
http://wiki.whatthehack.org/WTW/images/1/13/WTH.pdf
7. WTH Nutrition Facts
What The Hack features two large bars: "What The Bar" and
"Megabit", both open 24 hours per day (although for liquor license
reasons alcohol sales will be interrupted during a relatively short
interval late at night). Caterers operating from 12 separate small
stands will provide you with a wide variety of meals costing between
1,50 and 7,50 Euro. If you'd rather cook your own meal, there are
supermarkets in Liempde, about 2.5 km away from WTH.
8. Wauland Village
Wau Holland was one of the founders of the Chaos Computer Club in
Hamburg, 1981. Wau sadly died on July 29th 2001. The CCC Kassel and the
Wau Holland Stiftung present Wauland Village which will feature some
pictures, movies of his speeches and some special dark beer that used to
be one of his favorites. The village will provide information about the
the Wau Holland foundation, which supports projects Wau would have been
interested in – like their next project: an archive of Hacker's History
in Berlin. For further information see http://www.kassel.ccc.de and
http://www.wau-holland-stiftung.de
9. British Embassy - Village:
The British Embassy will be an organic growth of Brits who, like many of
us, just love messing about with machines. These guys will bring their
trusty Cisco gear so we can distribute network out to you if you camp
nearby. There will be some small informal talks on the future of
Interruptable Programming and also on changes in Audio Recording with
Offboard DSP chips. There will be a revised firewall setup to play
around with and you'll will be asked for help in breaking it, as long as
if you break it you write down how you did it (or better: suggest a
better way of securing it). The typically British Tea Time won't be
missing either, of course. See
http://wiki.whatthehack.org/WTW/index.php/British_Embassy for further
information.
10. Coming up in the next newsflash
The next and short WTH newsflash might contain some late breaking travel
information and will contain detailed information on how the WTH
car-park and the WTH train shuttle service work, as well as a few more
practical details. Probably the next thing after that you get from us
will be the WTH paper booklet handed out at the registration tent, which
will contain many useful tidbits.
11. Communications Lockdown Procedure Initiated
The WTH core teams are all finalizing their preparations to move to
Liempde. We still read mail, but we might be less responsive (hah!) than
usual. If your issue doesn't affect the event as a whole, it is probably
best dealt with once you get there. Tickets are sold at the door. If at
all possible just transport yourself to the field and let's figure it
out once we all live there.
Meanwhile: keep checking (and updating!) the wiki:

Verstehe.
Können Sie mir ein Kontakt (Deutsch, Italienisch oder Englisch) nennen,
bei dem ich Informationen zum A760 einholen kann?
> Da müßte ich Sie auf das A780 vertrösten.
Beim A780 sind die Probleme (Geschwindigkeit, Verfügbarkeit des
Quellcodes, Updatemöglichkeit der Firmware und Synchronisationssoftware
für GNU/Linux) also gelöst?
Mit freundlichen Grüßen!
